| Electric forces and the electric field, Gauss theorem and its applications, electric potential, capacitance and capacitors, dielectrics phenomena, current Ohm's law and resistance, Kirchoff's laws, cells, the magnetic fields, magnetic properties of materials, galvanometers - ammeters and voltmeters, motors, electromagnetic induction, LCR circuits, transformers, partical accelerators, photo electric effects. Assessment is continuous by assignments and a final examination.
Prerequisites: Successful completion of the Foundation course in Physics PSF 2602, or 3 relevant passes at GCE A level. Programmes for which this course is required or in which it can be included:
